About MBAC
Montana Business Assistance Connection (MBAC), a non-profit membership organization, was formed to retain existing and create new jobs in Lewis and Clark, Broadwater, and Meagher Counties (MBAC/Gateway region). Since late 1999, MBAC has utilized private and public capital resources and professional business development assistance to directly create and retain more than 1,000 jobs in the MBAC region. In addition, Montana Business Assistance Connection’s economic development activities have injected more than $45 million of public and private funds into the regional economy. Today, MBAC is a State of Montana Certified Regional Development Corporation, hosts Small and Micro Business Development Centers, manages more than $6 million in 12 revolving loan funds, and supports a federally recognized Economic Development District.
The primary economic development strategy for MBAC is entrepreneur and small business development. We focus activities on one-to-one counseling for new and existing businesses, providing investment and incentive capital, collecting and maintaining databases of demographic, socio-economic, and property/facility information about our service area, and assisting local governments and community development organizations to create and maintain human, organizational, and physical infrastructure. We believe these are the critical factors that necessary and sufficient to create and retain jobs.
Economic Development Resources at MBAC:
• FREE financial, management, and profitability counseling and assistance via our SBDC and MBDC; • Risk and incentive capital to start-up businesses, self-employed entrepreneurs, and existing businesses that are not able to access traditional capital resources; and • Maintaining and providing relocation information that includes socio-economic, cost of living, business climate, and infrastructure data for Broadwater, Lewis and Clark, and Meagher Counties.
In addition, MBAC assists businesses seeking to relocate into the service area in a variety of ways. We can provide you with local and regional data as well as available real estate and facilities.
